This park was a total surprise. Coming in, we could see from the road that it was huge and since it was Labor Day weekend, it was pretty full. You would expect it to be noisy, but it wasn't. Camper Corral is one of nicest campgrounds we've seen in our 4 months of travel. The staff is very friendly and quite visible; they even hosted a Pot Luck BBQ and everything was great. Sites are spacious with nice shade trees (except in the tent area). Very pet friendly; everyone has a dog but there is little barking. Over 40 acres of space for the dogs to play and it's a short walk through the blackberry patch to the river. Hubby and I are presently arguing; I want to stay another day and he's ready to head down the road. Lots of stuff to do and see in nearby parks: huge redwoods, ocean, trails and more trails. The place is a fisherman's paradise and the salmon are running. Folks next to us have been here 2 months and have been coming here for years during fishing season. Kids, bikes, dogs everywhere and it all puts a smile on your face. We would definitely return if in this area again.
A quiet park; not too far off the main road and a short drive to the lovely city of Florence and the dunes. Site was adequate for our slides but would not have had room to open the canopy. There were shrubs between campsites for privacy but when we lit a fire in our firepit, the folks next to us closed their door. Also the 2-blocks to the beach was a bit of larceny since you couldn't cross the private property to get there. Pet area was a little lacking also.
The only thing lacking in this park is shade. Definitely a "snowbird" spot with most of the permanents settled into the back-in sites around the perimeter of the park. Pull throughs were in the center with plenty of space for slides. Two dog runs: one very large area for off-leash. There's even a beauty shop on premises. I had a little trouble with the Wi-Fi; it kept dropping and I'd have to reconnect but other than that, it was a great park. Make sure your AC is working if you come in the summer; temps often above 100.
Friendly staff here and the park was easy to locate, but is definitely in town and you must contend with the noise. Sites were spacious with green lawns and picnic table at each space. The pet area was an insult to any animal and should therefore not be labeled as pet friendly: a small space, all gravel. Hubby walked our dog outside the park in a nearby lot. Appeared to have a lot of permanent residents on site.
This place was not much to look at but there's not a lot of selection in the area either. Our site was pretty bare but did have full hookups. There was no picnic table but I doubt I would have used it anyway. I was surprised by the lack of Wi-Fi and also having to pay cash but the staff was pleasant. The park has a lot of long-term residents and some of the sites are a little junky, but we did not experience any problems. Easy in and out and we were just there one night.
Nice park with friendly staff. It's convenient to both Cannon Beach and Seaside communities. Our site and several others would benefit from new picnic tables. Our fire pit had not been cleaned and was full of cigarette butts. Everything else worked. Hubby enjoyed soaking his aching back in the hot tub and the pet area was nice. Tolovana Park on the beach allows pets.
One of the cleanest, most serene campgrounds we've had occasion to use. We camped here in 2007 in a 27 ft. 5th wheel and didn't hesitate to return in our newer 34 ft. 5th wheel. Yes, some of the pull-throughs are a little tight, but enjoying the shade of those trees was wonderful. We especially love walking our dog in some of the outer areas so she can run free for a little while. BTW, we only paid $4 extra for a creek side pull-through and they do have a Good Sam discount. We extended our stay another night just to enjoy the peace and quiet. With the camp located 3/4 mile off the Glenn Highway, you have to strain to hear any road noise.
I agree with the previous review in most respects. The "poop" made walking near the edge of the lake undesirable. Also, there was a good deal of loose trash laying around and staff never came to clean up the tent site across from us. We did, however, have good Wi-Fi reception in site 27. Even with all the negatives, it's still the best place in Quesnel.
Beautiful little camp with a country feel, but only minutes away from Durango. Camp staff were very friendly. Nice pet area. Pull through sites were a little narrow but we were still able to get our slides and canopy out. Our rig was too long to camp next to the creek, but we could still hear it from across the street. We would definitely stay again when traveling this direction.
This was a clean & attractive park but I would never stay there again. We called ahead for a reservation and were asked if we had pets. We replied "yes" and were asked what size. We told them the weight; they never mentioned anything else about their pet policy. When we checked in, they made us read a statement regarding the policy and were told that they wanted folks to know ahead of time or else they could opt to move on. Although we thought it was a little restrictive that they didn't want pets pottying on the grass, we chose to stay there since they had a pet area. We are in the habit of cleaning up after our dog and think everyone else should too. However, when I took my dog to the pet area, I was appalled to find nothing but an open field with scrub and sagebrush...not one blade of grass....only rocks and sand. Thank goodness, my pet isn't too particular! We managed, but like another visitor mentioned, felt "watched". My husband and I joked that "the guard was on his rounds again". Not a friendly staff, and folks with pets & children should probably find another spot, if possible. Other amenities were fine.
The location of this park is very nice - a good way off the freeway but still close enough to town. The sites are gravel and very tight. Many of them face interior park roads with no place to step outside except in the street. The WIFI was great, but we were parked right behind the restrooms and the lights at night were so bright we had to cover our bedroom window with a black garbage bag to block out some of the light. No one led us in and we had to really concentrate to see if we were in the right site. The picnic table in our site was "ratty" and the BBQ had been welded so high up that it was unusable for cooking. Good pet area and the property next door had some friendly llamas, donkeys, horses, and a goat. We enjoyed walking our dog down the street that leads to the mobile home park behind the KOA and petting the animals. This place is all right but I really expected better from a KOA. My husband talked to the owner and found out they have only had it for one year and are gradually cleaning up the place.
